Biography
Education
Mr. Gernt obtained his B.S. degree from Middle Tennessee State University in 2003. In 2013, he earned his Juris Doctorate, graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee.
Experience
For six years, Mr. Gernt served the citizens of the 13th Judicial District as an Assistant District Attorney General in Putnam, Cumberland, White, and Dekalb counties. During that time, he handled countless cases ranging from theft to homicide, winning over fifteen jury trials. Most Recently, Mr. Gernt served in a specialized role, tasked with prosecuting child sexual abuse.
In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Gernt serves as an adjunct professor for Vol State Community College, teaching the fundamentals of constitutional law in the legal process.
